What's Your Favorite Song?

"My favorite song is 4:44 by Jay Z because it’s a nice song it's emotional. I recommended it because it’s a great song and it gives me a good feeling. Honestly it talks so much about what people go through in life it's pretty cool." -Alex Garcia (12)

-Lizette Ramirez and Jacklyn Cruz

"My favorite song more like my favorite album is Because the Internet by Childish Gambino. I like it because it's sort of deep it's kind of emotional but it's really lit at the same time. So, the album can do both. I do recommend it." -Stefano Rincon (10)

"My favorite songs are all off the Kodak Black Album. I really like his songs because I love rap so much and it's my life. I also like the beat and rhythm that his music has. I do recommend his songs because I think everyone else would enjoy listening to his music. I love Kodak Black!"-Makyla (12)

"My favorite songs are from Jenny Rivera I love listening to Spanish music. I like Jenny Rivera because I grew up listening to Mexican/Spanish music since I was little and it has stuck with me ever since. Yes, I would recommend her songs. They are great to listen to when your cleaning around the house." -Liseth Sosa (11)

"My favorite song is Come as You Are by Nirvana because I really enjoy listening to it. I enjoy it because it’s a thinking song and I really vibe with it. I do recommend it because I think anyone can vibe with it like I do."

-Samantha Villalobos (11)

The Amazing Tei Street

-Lauren Limon & Zander Moreno

Q: Are you excited for the motivational speech today?

A: You have no idea how excited I am. I walked into the gym and it was decorated. I am really honored to have the opportunity to be at Pioneer Valley today.

-Tei Street

At Friday's rally we had a guest motivational speaker: Tei Street. She told us stories about herself and how people doubted her throughout her childhood. She also spoke to the football players about their game against Lompoc and how they should believe that they have the chance to win. She also spoke about how she faced her fear about being tied up in the pool, skydiving out of a plane, and the Houdini trick from when she was a child.

Q: How did you feel about the rally?

A: "The rally was pretty good. It was really interesting and I didn't expect much excitement. The guest speaker was so inspiring and motivational and she kept it alive with her humor. She really taught us to be who we are and to follow our dreams and that is a message that all of us students would love to hear every day." -Bianca Cambero (9)

Q: Do you prefer the sports rally on Thursday's and a guest speaker on a Friday?

A: "So, I prefer the sports rally on a Friday and have the guest speaker come in on another day and speak, but that couldn't happen because the school district only allows us to cut classes for rallies for a specific amount of time so we had to change the sports rally to lunch."

-Jheremy Casabar (12)

Q: How did you feel about the rally?
A: I loved the motivational speaker's talk. I really needed that in my life and listening to that somewhat gave me an uplifting with a better perspective on life. Loving myself is always what I've needed to do and her words made me acknowledge the fact that life gets better. Even with all the pessimism, step by step I can grow I can go forth in finding better ways to love myself." -Donny Pursley (12)

Tourist Day

-Charlotte Ionata & Mariah Arellano

Survey: Take a Knee

This week's survey: Would you take a knee during the National Anthem?

A Gift

-Alexis Dagar

When she needed your help standing, you gave her a hand.

Something she latched onto so tightly you thought she had mistaken it for a life preserver.

Sometimes, she thought they were the same thing.

When tears fell on her cheek, you lent her your shoulder, the crook of your neck.

Something she kept by her night stand when that was the only thing next to her.

Sometimes, that's the only thing she could fall asleep to.

When life left her broken, you showed her your mind, the curves of your soul.

Something that let her see how the world didn't turn for us, but we still breathe in the air.

Sometimes, she can still hear your heartbeats intertwine.

They twist into the greatest symphony that can last longer than time itself.
