What do you think is the most important thing when it comes to taking care of your skin?

“I think it’s really good that us women should clean our faces because it helps us look our best and feel good about how clear our skin looks but I really don’t get that much acne so I just wash my face with regular face wash twice a day.”

What is your favorite skin care product and why?

“My favorite skin care product would be my moisturizer because I have really dry skin so I just get mine at any store where they sell skin care products.”

Do you have a skin care routine? If so are you strict with it?

“I wash my face twice a day and yes I’m very well strict with my routine.”

Is skin care something you make very important in your life?

“Not really because it’s everyday routine for me but I take it seriously though I would like to improve on it more.”

For people who don’t know much about skin care, what would be your number one tip?

“I would let them know that if they want to take care of their skin they would have to be really committed to what their routine is and follow that every day.”

Involvement in theater is one of the most beneficial experiences that a high school student can have. Our theater arts program holds very outgoing students who aren't afraid to act in front of others. For a teenager in this world today, the theater can provide an outlet to be creative. For example, the students that are in our theater arts class present themselves with a lot of confidence which allows them to express their inner personalities. Already, with in the first 4 weeks of school, they have turned in a short silent movie which turned out amazing!

Express Yourself

-Keydi Gracida

‘Theatre arts will and has helped me in the future because I can speak up more easily rather than being shy or not being able to say my opinion on things. It also lets people be creative because you get to express our own ideas, then being able to put them all together and show the whole class what's your point of view on things." -Chely Moreno (12)

“These kinds of classes help you learn and grow as a person. Not only that, but it lets you stand out and get out of your comfort zone. I think my pantomime was hard because you had to act without speaking and the improvising wasn’t any easier." -Dulce Herrera (11)

"I feel like this class will help me in the future because it’s a classroom where you can be yourself and have a good time. I had fun doing my pantomime because I couldn’t be serious due to my partner laughing all the time but it just shows that it can be fun!" -Jennifer Ortega (12)

”Theatre arts is a means of expressing yourself. As creative as you are it comes across like your art form. I would recommend to take this class because it's fun and it will help in the future with public speaking. It also helps you be less of an introvert." -Daniel Geiger (12)

"Drama is going to develop your inner skills. This class lets you be creative because you put your thought into the act. Also, my pantomime was fun because it helped me be myself." Leslie Mora (11)

Noodle Challenge

Certain PVHS teachers were selected to have a jar in their classroom to raise money for the people affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Hurricane Irma in Florida. The first-place winner for raising money was Mr. O’Neil with $105. For the spicy noodle eating challenge, Mr.Ilac took the win for first place. The Santa Maria Saints, Righetti Warriors, and Pioneer Valley Panthers all worked together to have $1,500 to donate to the ones affected by the Hurricanes.

Q: What was the rate on the soup from 1- 10 ?

A: Well it came in stages, the top part where it first started it was like 4 or 5 but then you got to the bottom where all the sauce was and everything it was a seven. Then the after math was a 10 and the only thing that is helping is the ice-cream.

Q: What was your game plan for winning this challenge?

A: My plan was put it all in there, swallow it, and deal with the consequences later. Which I am now, as of being done for 15 minutes now my mouth is still on raging fire. My whole idea was this fat guy can eat a lot of food so, I'm just going to shove it down my throat and deal with it later; that was my plan.

Q: What was your reaction when you got the email for the challenge?

A: I figured since I deal with a lot of the seniors, seniors usually being the ones who are most involved with fundraising and things on campus. So I thought it was pretty probable that I was going to get picked because more than half the classes I teach are seniors. I just felt like, it's probably going to happen so when it happened I was just like "Alright. Let's do it. Let's go."
